The first day of the NFL draft didn't witness any of the much anticipated trades like the ones involving Cardinals Anquan Boldin or Browns Braylon Edwards. Instead many teams filled their WR needs with draft picks. The Eagles selected Jeremy Maclin and the Giants grabbed Akeem Nicks.

The Oakland Raiders, actually Al Davis, bypassed the best WR in the draft in Michael Crabtree and opted for speed by selecting Darius Heyward-Bey with the seventh pick. That arguable move allowed the other team in the Bay area, the S. Francisco 49ers, to grab Crabtree with the 10th selection overall.

The Denver Broncos added yet another RB to their roster in the first round by selecting Knowshown Moreno from Georgia at No. 12.
