Week 8 featured outstanding waiver wire pickups including WR Michael Crabtree ( six receptions for 86 yards) and WR Hakeem Nicks ( four receptions for 53 yards ), with Week 9 approaching, here are the next future stars.
Quarterbacks:
Vince
Young - Titans: Did you know that he has a record of 19-11 as a
starting quarterback? Well, on Sunday he proved he still has game. He threw for
125 yards and a touchdown, and ran for 30 yards on 12 carries.
The Tennessee Titans will travel to San Francisco who has the 26th worst pass defense and it was learned today that
starting cornerback Nate Clements
will be out up to six weeks. The 49ers have surrendered nine touchdowns through
the air, so look for Young to capitalize on Sunday.
Running
Backs:
Jamaal
Charles - Chiefs: With the suspension of RB Larry Johnson, Charles has been getting all the first-team reps.
In limited playing time he is averaging five yards a carry and has 14 receptions
for 120 yards.
The Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Jacksonville, which ranks 23rd against the run and are allowing opposing running
backs 4.3 yards per carry; with the future of Johnson in the air, it would be
wise for Fantasy Owners to pick up the versatile running back.
Ryan
Moats - Texans: With RB Steve Slaton in the doghouse, Moats was
able to take advantage. He ended Sunday with 126 yards on 23 carries, and
three touchdowns (a club record).
The Texans will travel to Indianapolis. The Colts
allowed RB Frank Gore to rush for 91
yards on 13 carries, and a touchdown. With the possibility of a splitting carries
with Slaton, it is wise for Fantasy Owners to pick up Moats.
Wide
Receivers:
Deverey
Henderson - Saints: Over his last two games, he has eight receptions for 117
yards. He is starting to get targeted more and Fantasy Owners should be aware.
The New Orleans Saints will host the Carolina Panthers who have the top rated pass defense in the league, yet in Week 9 the
Saints travel to St. Louis.
The Rams are second to last in pass defense and have surrendered
11 touchdowns through the air. If you need a receiver, stash him away until Week Ten.
Sammy
Stroughter - Tampa Bay: Even though it has been a tough season in
Tampa, a bright spot has been the play of Stroughter. Over his last two
games, he has six receptions for 128 yards.
The Buccaneers will host the Green Bay
Packers in Week Nine. Although the Packers rank eighth best in
pass defense, they have allowed 13 passing touchdowns, which ranks them tied
for 26th worst in the NFL. Look for Stroughter to find the end zone
on Sunday.
Tight
End:
Fred
Davis - Redskins: With the injury to starting TE Chris Cooley, Davis
filled in admirably. He finished Week Seven, with eight receptions for 78 yards
and a touchdown.
The Washington Redskins will travel to Atlanta. The
Falcons rank 27th in the passing yards allowed per game (251) and
with QB Jason Campbell safety
blanket Cooley out for a few weeks, look for Davis to continue getting plenty
of opportunities to put up solid numbers.

-Still trying to figure out a sad RB group, just picked up Charles (Moats was gone at 3am) and also have Wells, Bell, S. Greene, andd S-Jax. Wondering if it's worth to swap any of them for the following FAs to end the season, & also who you think might be strongest for W9 with Jackson on bye (need 2 noPPR). FAs are Fargas (bye), Sproles, Buckhalter, F Jones, Harrison, Choice, S or M Morris, Maroney.
- Who do you like for D/ST this week between: GB, BAL, ATL, CIN, DAL, SEA, ARI (they killed on Sunday, tho)
Thanks for all your comments, you guys are great.
Picked up NEP RB S. Morris for bye wk replacement, was injured on 1st play. Is there any news that Morris will be coming back or should I try to claim RB Moats?
My top RB,Peterson on bye wk 9.
Green Bay Packers are playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs rank 26th in rushing and 27th in passing offense. Look for the Packers to have a great day.
Good luck this week and look forward to your next comment.
I would try and claim Moats and go with him. For reasons why (see Week 9 Waiver Wire column.
Good luck this week and look forward to your next comment.
What do you think? My other quarterbacks are Cutler and Sanchez.
Thee only issue i have is that seems like the girl whom offered the trade has her husband playing in the same league and his quarterbacks are D.Garrard,J.Campbell,T.Collins, and D.Anderson she's 2-6 but he can make the playoffs. Dont know if they would end up trading before the trading deadline to give him a boost in his roster. Plus we start 2 quarterbacks to play in the games. What should i do?
The only concern doing that is both guys are old and if they get hurt you might have some problems. I still think it is worth it, those guys are on great offenses and should put up good point totals the rest of the way. Is this a keeper league at all? If not I say ditch the high interception totals of Cutler.
For QB I have Big Ben, Matt Ryan, Hassleback, and McNabb. I know McNabb proved himself as an elite QB when he has time in the pocket, and against a great D line, but as I've seen before he isn't known for consistancy, so I was thinking about sitting him and playing Big Ben and either Matt Ryan or Hassleback, I am leaning towards Hassleback but Ryan has done good on the bench for me before.
At WR i have- Vincent Jackson, Johnny Knox (return yards count), Simms-Walker, Nate Burleson (just got out of free agency), Randy Moss, and Steve Smith (NYG). Currently I am sitting Simms-Walker (since garrard either cant complete it or decides to not look his way) and Steve Smith because of his match up, this means I would be starting 4 WR and 2 RB
My RB situation is Kevin Smith, Brian Westbrook, and LT. I have LT sitting since he has been sharing alot of time with sproles and is going against the gaints D.
Help would be much appreciated, sorry if I took up a couple of pages or rambeled in this comment.
p.s. you guys rock
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Due to the Giants recent struggles, Jacobs production has suffered. Once the Giants start winning again, and start running the ball 20-25 times, he will come around. Just be patience, and if you do have room on your roster to add McCoy do it, but do not drop Jacobs.
Good luck this week and look forward to your next comment.
Larry Fitzgerald is never hurt(knock on wood) and a great Fantasy player in PPR leagues and standard leagues.
Do the trade and do not worry about what might happen, because you cannot control it.
Good luck this week and look forward to your next comment.
P.S. Curious if the husband and wife team will swap, keep me posted!
You mention it already, he is the better player this year. I know you feel obligated to stick with Cutler or Warner, because you drafted them probably mid round picks.
I would first try and trade Cutler, before dropping him, but if you must, let Cutler go.
Warner will face Seattle, Tennessee, Rams, Vikings, 49ers, Lions, Rams and Green Bay the rest of the way. His schedule is by far easier than Cutler.
Look for Warner to do well the rest of the year because of his easier opponents. Not to mention, almost every team on the list ranks in the bottom half in passing defense.
Good luck this week and look forward to your next comment.
WR: Moss, Vincent Jackson(No regular starting CBs), Burleson(playing the Lions), Smith(Chargers pass defense is horrendous)
RB: Smith and LT
Good luck this week and look forward to your next comment
Going on the trade itself, I would have to say do it. Moss is the best player in the deal and usually will produce solid numbers. Grant is starting to come around and should have a better second half to the season. Smith is the enigma. If only he had a consistent QB.
Jackson is very good, but if you have a hole at WR, then do the deal. Having Johnson gives you the luxury to pull the trigger.
Good luck this week and look forward to your next comment.
RB I have right now are Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, Beanie Wells and Tashard Choice(by the way should I drop Choice?)
Thanks for the advice, I took the deal. FYI- Ocho, Cotchery, Breaston & Holt are my other WRs.

Trading him will allow you to get a RB. I would not drop Choice, I would add him to the deal and someone will accept.
RB's to target: Ryan Grant, Matt Forte, Ray Rice and Brandon Jacobs.
Good luck this week and look forward to your next comment.
P.S. You have a great core of receivers and you should be able to do well for the rest of the season.
